My wonderful friend Amy of wolfwhistle.org fame won a fashion blogging competition hosted by Grazia, and I could not be more chuffed for her. Not least because the prize is amazing (£1000 to spend at my-wardrobe.com & tickets to LFW next year) but also because she’s an amazing fashion journalist and it’s about time people started to sit up and take notice.
Congratulations kid, well deserved
Her winning article is here, and the piece the Grazia team wrote about her is here, both well worth reading (in my opinion of course
).
We’re in the middle of choosing the copy fonts for Télégramme at the moment, and god what a complete face ache it is. So let’s take a short break and marvel at this for a minute. How amazing are these fonts by Vladimir Koncar?

From top to bottom: Toothpick Font, Gummi Bears Font, Raw Meat Font and Leaves Font. Absolutely stunning. I’m not sure if they’re available to buy or not, but I’d really love to see these being used out and about somewhere so I really hope so.
So, kidlets. I’ve been meaning to come here for weeks and blog about this (in fact, it’s been on my paper to-do list* so long it’s now written in red and highlighted, eek) but time slips by and things get in the way and before you know it the January launch date has been pushed back to March.
However, I wanted to let you know, dear reader (yes, that’s right, singular) that a few friends and I have created a beautiful magazine, and that we want you to see it soon because we’re damn proud of it and it’s taken ages.
Billed a photography showcase magazine, Télégramme is for people who like to experience photography, more than people who like talking about how they took their pictures (even tho we like that too, it’s not for these pages.). We have featured artists, some beautiful pieces and sets and a team of people behind the scenes that frankly, deserve a medal for their efforts.
If it sounds like something you might be interested in, then watch this space – we’ll be launching (fingers crossed) in early March.
*a post for another time, but a paper to-do list is working wonders on my life.
I have a batch of gingerbread dough in the fridge chilling, and a saucepan of chunked cooking apple on the stove, waiting to be turned into delicous apple sauce to accompany tonight’s roast pork. It’s a little domesticated, but since domesticated is a hat I can wear well, that’s okay by me.
Last night was Anna’s last in Cornwall for the time being, bringing my friends total down to a measly two (or losing 33% if you like to be maths geek about it), so we sent her off in traditional fashion of playing one of the weird board games in the local pub. We ended up playing scruples, with questions such are “you are having an affair, and don’t feel like going to work. Do you call in sick?” and “you are in a night-club [sic] and see a handsome young man, dressed to the “nines”. His shirt tail is sticking out, do you tell him?”
Some of the questions were beyond hilarious (I wasn’t drinking but I can imagine the pints of beer that Jeff and Anna consumed only helped to heighten the sense of what the fuckedness about the whole thing.)
I’m sad to see her go, and not just because it brings my friend quotient down so drastically. At least I can console myself with that fact that London is around the corner, timeline if not distance wise, and I’ll soon be able to hang out whenever I damn well please. I can’t wait.

1. 165/365 Vibrant, 2. 155/365 Taking It Easy, 3. 318/365 Grrr (bargains I have bought in Primark)
I love Primark. I do. I remember the first time I ever went, after reading about it time and time again on a friends Livejournal and thinking FINE, I’LL GO, BUT I WON’T LIKE IT.
Boy was I wrong. The first one I ever visited was in Middlesbrough, so it wasn’t exactly the greatest, but I loved it all the same. I went today to Lakeside with Nicola to pick up some winter staples – I love that I can spent £30 and come back with a myriad of fabulousness. In no particular order:

1. Make Up Bag, 2. Bow Brooch & Yellow Tights, 3. Giraffe Pants, 4. Swallows & Stars Underwear, 5. Flourescent Belts, 6. Reindeer pyjamas, 7. Skinny Jeans, 8. Veil, 9. Headband
I actually got two pairs of skinny jeans, one black one grey, plus two stripey jumpers not pictured. All of the above, for a mind blowing £51. (the belts were 50p each!) I love you, Primark. Don’t ever change.
I don’t know what’s happened to me lately. I seem to have turned a fashion corner and suddenly my shoe envy knows no bounds. I bought two amazing pairs from Schuh for a total of £25 (with free shipping and £5 off by using the discount code ONLINE) and now I’ve been browsing their site and have found no less than twenty pairs I’d also like to own. Eeep.

How adorable is this necklace? Obviously being a complete twitter nut, the idea of having a necklace shaped like the twitter bird appeals.

she also has some really super cute earrings, but I can’t wear earrings anymore so none of that goodness for me. I guess I’ll have to console myself with a set of necklaces instead. Such hardship!
I’ve been a Benefit girl ever since a saw a friends blusher – kept in it’s own little box with an adorable brush sat snug inside. Genius! I usually wear 10 or Dandelion, but with my hair the crazy red colour it is Dandelion is just too pink, and my 10 has practically run out. So off I went, hunting something new, and I came back with Coralista (which I gather hasn’t been out for too long, I’ve certainly never seen it before).
It’s not exactly cheap at £22.50 per box, but each of my blushers has lasted over a year, so you get a pretty good run for your money
I team it with a sweep of Bad Gal (the best mascara I’ve ever used) if I’m heading to the office, and a nice swatch of urban decay honey if I’m heading out on the town.

the eyeshadow is on sale at ASOS at the moment, and for just £7.75 I think I might snap myself up a few more colours
